Description

THE TERRITORY – The Caribbean Island

We selected this specialty coffee from the most iconic Caribbean island, renowned for a number of distinctive features, including its beaches, vibrant music and dance, colonial architecture, cigars and rum, and its unique history. An island with strong traditions and a recognizable culture, like this coffee, whose intense notes are love at first sip for many.

Coffee cultivation on the Caribbean island is a historic activity, introduced in the 18th century by French colonists fleeing Haiti. The island, particularly the Sierra Maestra area, offers ideal climatic conditions, with mild temperatures and abundant rainfall, ideal for growing both Arabica and Robusta. Production, once thriving, declined after the 1959 revolution, but recent years have seen a renewed interest in sustainable cultivation, with a focus on quality and the export of organic coffee.

THE PROCESSING

The cherries are hand-picked, washed, selected, and processed using the washed method.
