THE FARM
Reinaldo has dedicated his entire life to agriculture, hand in hand with his wife and four children.
In the finca di lui Providencia, plants of the Geisha, Yellow and Red Caturra, F6 and pink Bourbon varieties are grown. Less than one hectare of land is dedicated to the Geisha variety, to be precise there are only 1,700 total plants, the production of this coffee is limited to only 1,150 kg per year.
THE PROCESSING
Thanks to the position of this plantation at about 1,750 m and the climatic conditions, this coffee requires a long period of maturation and thanks to this slow maturation each bean develops very particular aromas and scents.
The cherries are harvested at the maximum of their ripeness and processed within 5 hours of harvesting. Fermentation lasts from 48 to 72 hours in 25-liter barrels. After fermentation, this Geisha is placed on raised tables for 20/24 days in the sun.
THE EXPERIENCE IN A CUP
In the cup it is a coffee with a good body and a very pleasant citric acidity, it has the classic aromatic complexity of the Geisha variety coffees, the hints of fruit such as apple, pear, orange are well perceptible; in aftertaste floral notes.
